Causes of Teeth Discoloration :
Teeth become yellow and dull due to our dietary lifestyle habits like excess consumption of coffee, tea, colas, wine, chewing tobacco, smoking and lack of oral hygiene maintenance.
The plaque accumulation and staining foods along with chromogeic bacteria stain the teeth.
Superficial stains can be removed by scaling and polishing treatment. Internal stains have to be removed by Teeth Whitening procedure.
In some cases teeth are originally formed with permanaent stains due to hereditary reasons or intake of medicines before birth by mother.
Calcium deficiency and excess fluoride in water during childhood cause fluorosis and also spotting on teeth.
Other causes are trauma on teeth, chemotherapy & radiation, consumption of antibiotics like tetracycline and doxycycline in children.
Teeth Whitening Procedure:
First of all Shade of your yellow teeth is selected and Scaling and polishing is done.
We are using in office chair side Zoom Teeth Whitening system which is a scientifically proven light accelerated procedure.
It involves isolating your soft tissues like gums and cheek mucosa with a special kit.
Zoom gel is applied on the teeth surfaces. Thereafter Zoom lamp with a guide having a special chip is placed in front of the teeth to be whitened.
The light breaks down the hydrogen peroxide in the gel to remove internal stains.
The gel is activated by automated light emitting with different frequencies in a fifteen minutes session.
The Zoom lamp increases the effectiveness of zoom gel by almost 30% giving you teeth almost 8 shades lighter.
After this, the gel is removed and checked for the shade. If more whiteness is required, the teeth whitening session can be repeated.
The zoom whitening gives you additional benefits like enamel strengthening with fluoride care.
